Fantuzzi SF U: which hydraulic fluid and quantity do the filling tables give?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

The filling tables give SAE 80W to API GL-4: 158 litres on the SF 30 U to SF 40 U and 160 litres on the SF 45 U to SF 65 U, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. According to the same tables, the wheel assemblies run on the same fluid and are counted in the hydraulic quantity, as recorded at HIT SRL. The 1998 lubrication chart gives the same 158 and 160 litres, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF U: where is the hydraulic reservoir and how is it checked?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

The 2003 operator's manual places the reservoir on the chassis behind the driver's seat, with the level checked engine off at the top notch, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The maintenance manual of the same edition places the sump on one side of the machine, so the two descriptions differ, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF U: how does the operator know a hydraulic return filter is blocked?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

A warning appears on the monitor in the cab, according to the 2003 maintenance manual, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. The return filters on top of the hydraulic sump have an electrical blockage indicator, and the same manual has the cartridges replaced when the warning shows, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF U: how is hydraulic fluid added?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

The fluid is pre-filtered at 10 microns and poured in through the quick coupling on the filter covers, according to the 2003 maintenance manual, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The same manual asks for fluid of the type already in the sump, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF: which hydraulic pressures do the manuals give?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

The 1998 SideLIFTS tables give a working pressure of 160 bar for the SF 30 U to SF 60 U and for the SF 45, SF 50 and SF 60, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. The pressure control diagram of the older O.M.F. handbook shows test gauges at 175 bar on the three-section control valve, as recorded at HIT SRL. The same handbook shows test gauges at 140, 85 and 30 bar on other circuits, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF 30-40 E: how is the hydraulic oil changed?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

According to the older SF handbooks, with the forks on the ground and the traverse cylinders retracted, the tank valve is closed and the suction pipes disconnected, the oil drained and the mesh filter cleaned, then the tank is refilled, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. The same handbooks have the lift cylinder bled through its vent screw with the engine idling and the lift lever in the raise position, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. Before the level is checked above MIN, the same handbooks have the forks raised fully and the mast tilted fully forward, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

According to the 2003 maintenance manual, only skilled staff repair the hydraulic accumulators, and the outer shell is never welded, brazed or drilled under any circumstances, as recorded at HIT SRL. The same manual has the gas precharge checked with the hydraulic system not under pressure, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF 30 U and SF 40 U: how is the hydraulic oil level read?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

On an indicator that shows both the hydraulic oil level and its temperature, according to the 1998 SideLIFTS manual, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. The same manual adds that these two models have a coolant expansion tank and that the brake fluid reservoir is in the cab under the seat, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Important — general guidance only – Fantuzzi SF Technical Cards

The information on this page is general technical guidance based on the field experience of HIT SRL's service technicians with port handling equipment, on the manufacturer's technical documentation consulted during service work on customers' machines or found in public sources, and on published sources on the history of Reggiane, Fantuzzi and Fantuzzi Reggiane. It is not machine-specific and does not replace the manufacturer's documentation.

Always refer to the operation and maintenance manual issued for your specific machine, model, serial number and configuration. Specifications, tolerances, tightening torques, service intervals and fluid types vary between manufacturers, between models of the same manufacturer, between production series of the same model, and with the operating environment: two visually identical components may be tightened to different torque values depending on who built the machine, and a unit working in arctic conditions requires different lubricants and service intervals from an identical unit working in tropical heat. Local regulations may impose further requirements. Where this page and your machine's manual differ, the manual prevails.

Maintenance and repair work must be carried out only by qualified personnel, with the machine isolated and secured according to the applicable safety procedures.

HIT Srl accepts no liability for damage, injury or loss arising from the use of this general information.
