Fantuzzi SF U: what does the troubleshooting section of the 2003 manual cover?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

According to the troubleshooting section of the 2003 SF maintenance manual, hydraulic motors, pumps, relief, check, directional and pressure valves, pressure gauges, gearbox and torque converter, steering, the overload control system, brakes and inching, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. Engine faults are referred to the engine maker's manual, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF: what causes stiff steering?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

Low oil pressure, a faulty hydraulic pump or a faulty power-steering valve, according to the troubleshooting tables, as recorded at HIT SRL. Poor steering response points to pressure needing adjustment or an internal leak in the steering cylinder in the tables of the 2003 manual, the 1998 SideLIFTS manual and the O.M.F. handbook, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. The O.M.F. handbook also names a weak pump and a faulty orbitrol, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF U: what causes braking faults?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

According to the 2003 troubleshooting table, sudden braking points to a wrong pressure setting under the pedal, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. In the same table weak front braking points to the actuator cylinder and weak rear braking, on optional brakes, to worn oil-bath discs or the caliper, as recorded at HIT SRL. Brakes that stay on point to a pedal that does not return to its stop in the same table, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF: why does a load creep down with the lever in neutral?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

An internal leak in the lift cylinder or a faulty control valve, according to the troubleshooting tables, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. The 1998 and O.M.F. tables also link low lifting power to a worn pump or a relief valve set too low, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The same tables link a load that changes the tilt angle to a leaking tilt cylinder or a faulty tilt cylinder lock valve, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF: what can stop the engine from starting?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

Air in the fuel system, a weak starter or the gear lever out of neutral, according to the troubleshooting tables, as recorded at HIT SRL. The 1998 troubleshooting table links low power to a short accelerator stroke, a dirty air filter or a faulty injection pump governor, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF U: what is checked after a hydraulic component fails?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

Whether the failure has contaminated the system, by checking the filters and the sump for debris, according to the 2003 maintenance manual, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. The same manual has a contaminated system cleaned before it runs again and the filter cartridges replaced, together with the fluid in small systems, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF 30-40 E: what causes a high transmission oil temperature?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

A low gearbox oil level or a dirty heat exchanger, according to the O.M.F. troubleshooting guide, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The guide has the level restored and the exchanger checked and cleaned, and refers further gearbox diagnosis to the manual of the Voith 845 transmission, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi SF 30-40 E: what is checked when lifting slows down?

HIT SRL technical desk · Fantuzzi SF technical card · October 2026

The hydraulic oil level, before it falls below the minimum, according to the O.M.F. handbook, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. The handbook warns that a low level lets air into the hydraulic circuit, which then needs bleeding, and gives this check for slow lifting or a fork that does not reach full height, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Important — general guidance only – Fantuzzi SF Technical Cards

The information on this page is general technical guidance based on the field experience of HIT SRL's service technicians with port handling equipment, on the manufacturer's technical documentation consulted during service work on customers' machines or found in public sources, and on published sources on the history of Reggiane, Fantuzzi and Fantuzzi Reggiane. It is not machine-specific and does not replace the manufacturer's documentation.

Always refer to the operation and maintenance manual issued for your specific machine, model, serial number and configuration. Specifications, tolerances, tightening torques, service intervals and fluid types vary between manufacturers, between models of the same manufacturer, between production series of the same model, and with the operating environment: two visually identical components may be tightened to different torque values depending on who built the machine, and a unit working in arctic conditions requires different lubricants and service intervals from an identical unit working in tropical heat. Local regulations may impose further requirements. Where this page and your machine's manual differ, the manual prevails.

Maintenance and repair work must be carried out only by qualified personnel, with the machine isolated and secured according to the applicable safety procedures.

HIT Srl accepts no liability for damage, injury or loss arising from the use of this general information.
