Fantuzzi FDC: what is the planned-maintenance schedule?
The FDC maintenance manuals give standard preventive schedules at 250, 500, 1,500 and 3,000 hours, and preventive special maintenance at about 6,000, 12,000 and 24,000 hours, adaptable to the machine type and operating conditions, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. In the tables, note (1) marks jobs to be done at least once a year, note (2) jobs for skilled staff and note (3) the chain inspection and wear checks every three months, recorded in a safety-inspection book, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. In the same tables, safety inspections are marked with an asterisk.

Fantuzzi FDC: is the maintenance table the same for all models?
The table is shared across models, in two versions: one planned-maintenance table of 140 jobs and one of 138 jobs, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The 140-job table, with the same jobs in the same hour columns, appears for the FDC 25 K7, FDC 25 J7, FDC 500 G5, FDC 550 G5, FDC 200 S3, FDC 350 and MJ 150/600, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. The 138-job table covers the FDC 18 K5 (2005 edition), FDC 25 K8, FDC 450 G4, FDC 160, FDC 200, FDC 250, FDC 320, FDC 480, FDC 360 and FDC 350 RoRo, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi FDC 18 K6: how does the 2002 maintenance table differ?
The 2002 manual of the FDC 18 K6 has a shorter planned-maintenance table of 121 jobs, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. It includes fixed-arm and moving-arm sliding-block replacement, slewing-ring greasing and reducer oil, jobs that the later FDC tables replace with mast, chain, fork and spreader jobs, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi FDC: how often are the main structure and pins checked?
According to the planned-maintenance table of the FDC manuals, the main structure is checked every 1,500 hours and at least once a year, for welded and bolted joints, bolt tightness and structural integrity, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The pins are checked every 250 hours for stop plates, lubrication and condition in the same table, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi FDC: what are the engine service intervals?
The FDC planned-maintenance table checks the engine for leaks, oil level and air-filter blockage every 10 hours, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. Every 250 hours the same table calls for fuel pre-filter cleaning, oil and oil filter change, fuel filter cartridge change, air filter cleaning and belt tension; every 500 hours for turbocharger fastening; every 1,500 hours for air filter replacement and injection pump fastening, with injection pump phase, injectors, valves, compressor and alternator for skilled staff; and every 3,000 hours for a motor oil test, as recorded at HIT SRL. Fantuzzi FDC: how often are the radiator, exhaust and fuel system serviced?
According to the FDC planned-maintenance table, the radiator is checked by sight with the coolant level every 10 hours, cleaned every 500 hours, and its coolant changed every 1,500 hours or at least once a year, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. The same table gives the exhaust a sight check every 100 hours, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. The fuel system is checked every 10 hours, its tank filter changed and water drained every 500 hours, and the tank cleaned every 1,500 hours or at least once a year, in that table, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

The transmission oil is changed every 1,500 hours in the FDC planned-maintenance table, with the oil filter changed every 500 hours and a fluid test every 3,000 hours, as recorded at HIT SRL. The level is checked every 10 hours, and the transmission chapter of the manuals asks for a daily level check at the FULL mark, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

Fantuzzi FDC 550 G5: how often is the drive-axle oil changed?
The planned-maintenance table gives a hub and differential oil change every 1,500 hours, also in the 2007 FDC 550 G5 manual, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. The same table checks the differential axle by sight every 10 hours and the hub and differential oil level every 100 hours, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. Fantuzzi FDC: what are the lifting assembly service intervals?
According to the FDC planned-maintenance table, the mast and chain sliding rollers and the fork carrier plate are greased every 100 hours, as HIT SRL's technical desk reads it. Every 500 hours the same table calls for chain cleaning, lubrication and adjustment, mast and fork carrier play checks and a sight and dimensional check of the forks, and every 3,000 hours for a penetrant inspection of the forks, as logged by the HIT SRL technical desk. The chain inspection and wear check sit in the 1,500-hour column with note (3), every three months, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

According to the planned-maintenance table of the FDC 25 K manuals, the SVT24K spreader is function-checked every 10 hours, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. Every 100 hours the same table has its sliding blocks, twistlocks, retention plates and guide blocks greased and twistlock alignment and leaks checked; every 250 hours sliding-pad wear and microswitch fastening; every 500 hours feeler operation, lights and safeties; every 1,500 hours twistlock wear, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. The twistlocks are replaced every 6,000 hours in that table, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.

The hydraulic oil is changed, and the fluid tested, every 3,000 hours or at least once a year, according to the FDC planned-maintenance table, as recorded at HIT SRL. Before start, according to the 2008 operator's manual, the pre-operational inspection of the FDC 25 K7 covers engine oil, coolant, hydraulic oil, leaks, structure and spreader, tyres, cab and fire extinguisher, as set out in the HIT SRL technical cards. After start it covers the hydraulic filter indicators, warm transmission oil level, fuel, lights and warning devices, in the same manual, the HIT SRL technical desk notes. According to the same manual, it also covers wipers, controls, brakes, dash display and unusual sounds, as recorded by the HIT SRL technical desk.
